AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott celebrated Nasdaq, Inc.’s announcement to launch Nasdaq Texas, a new financial exchange aimed at expanding investment opportunities across the state.

“Texas is the financial services capital of America,” Abbott said. “With another financial exchange coming to Texas, Nasdaq Texas cements our state as a global economic leader.”

The exchange is expected to become operational in 2026, pending regulatory approvals. During Abbott’s tenure, Texas has attracted over 325 corporate headquarters and now has the largest financial services workforce in the U.S., surpassing New York.
