KINGSVILLE – HALO-Flight, South Texas’ air medical transport service, has been named a national finalist for the Program of the Year Award by the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS). The announcement was made during the organization’s annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, in late October.

The award recognizes air and ground medical transport programs that demonstrate excellence in patient care, safety, leadership, innovation, and community impact. HALO-Flight was one of eight finalists nationwide.

In addition, CEO Travis Patterson was named one of nine finalists for the AAMS Excellence in Transport Leadership Award, honoring leaders in critical care transport for visionary leadership, innovation, and commitment to advancing the field.

While HALO-Flight did not take home the top awards, being named a finalist reflects the organization’s ongoing dedication to high-quality care across South Texas.

Local Impact
For residents of Kingsville and the Coastal Bend, HALO-Flight’s recognition underscores the value of having a locally based, highly trained air medical team. Quick response times, advanced critical care during transport, and access to specialized medical facilities are vital for both urban and rural communities.

The recognition also highlights HALO-Flight’s role in strengthening emergency preparedness and supporting local healthcare systems through leadership and innovation.
