Spring Break Camp brings science and nature activities to Dick Kleberg Park

By Kingsville Independent News Staff

Kingsville Parks and Recreation is offering a two-day Spring Break Camp in March, giving children a chance to explore hands-on science projects and outdoor activities during the school break.

The camp will take place March 17 and 18 at Dick Kleberg Park Recreation Hall, with sessions running from 1 to 5 p.m. each day. The cost is $10 per day and is open to children ages 6 to 12. Space is limited.

Mad Scientist Day – March 17

Tuesday’s activities will focus on STEM-based learning designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Planned activities include erupting volcano experiments, balloon rockets, engineering challenges, recycled art projects, and other hands-on science activities.

Nature Discovery Day – March 18

On Wednesday, the focus shifts outdoors with activities centered on nature exploration. Children will take part in a binocular challenge, bird and bug observation, a guided walk along the wildlife side of the park, outdoor games, and opportunities to learn about animals.

Parks and Recreation officials say the camp is a drug-free event, and healthy snacks will be provided daily.

Parents or guardians interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to register early, as space is limited. Registration is available through the Kingsville Parks and Recreation office. For more information or to register, call 361-221-8705.
